Static Eliminators for Packaging

Packaging processes like winding and sleeving often generate static, drawing in dirt and contaminants and causing a film to adhere to incorrect surfaces. TAKK static eliminators counteract this static, minimizing rejects and reducing waste.

Form, Fill & Seal

In vertical form, fill, and seal operations, static charges build up as the film unwinds and moves over rollers. This static attracts particles from the filled products onto the film and seal area, causing issues with proper sealing and affecting product quality.

To address this, installing static eliminators on both sides of the film before the sealing bar can neutralize the static, preventing dust attraction and ensuring complete sealing.

Tamper Proof Seals - Sleeving

In sleeving or banding, static electricity forms as the film unwinds for bottle application. This static charge may lead to the band repelling or attracting too quickly, causing misplacement, jams, downtime, and waste.

To counter this, placing a static eliminator before the fitting/cutting area neutralizes the charge. This prevents label misplacement, cuts down on waste, and boosts productivity.

Blow Molding

When the plastic parison comes out of the die into the open mold, strong static charges make it stick to the grounded metal mold. In cases with multiple die heads, the parisons can repel each other, leading to subpar product quality and more rejects.

To prevent these issues, installing a static eliminator as the plastic is extruded and enters the mold will neutralize the charge, averting quality failures.

Winding

While winding, as the web is pulled from the roll and the material separates, a static charge occurs, attracting airborne dust and contaminants. This leads to rejects, waste, and operator shocks.

To address this, placing a static eliminator on top of the roll during both unwind and rewind applications will neutralize the charge, preventing contamination and shocks.

Bottle Palletizing

Static charges on lightweight plastic bottles create issues as they move down a conveyor line onto a palletizing table or stack. The bottles either repel each other, leading to short counts and cleaning problems or cling together, making it challenging to feed or palletize without operator intervention.

To address this, a static eliminator with a long-range and high performance is necessary. It should project an ionization field across the width and length of the pallet, especially for larger pallets of 40″ x 40″ or more, to ensure comprehensive static control without the need for air assistance.
